Minneapolis wants to host WWE WrestleMania 41, and the city has taken the first step in doing so.
Paul Walsh of The Star Tribune reports that Minnesota Sports and Events submitted their pitch to host WrestleMania 41 at the U.S. Bank Stadium, the home of the Minnesota Vikings. The stadium can seat up to 73,000 fans.
The article noted that Wendy Blackshaw, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Minnesota Sports and Events, expressed that multiple cities are competing for the right to host the show. Blackshaw noted that she attended WrestleMania 39, and she said it was “nothing like I had ever seen in my whole life. Blackshaw expressed her hope that Minneapolis would get the bid and stated that it would be amazing.
WrestleMania 40 will be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 6-7.
