MJF says he won the Bidding War of 2024.
During his rise to the top of AEW, MJF often talked about the Bidding War of 2024. He frequently brought up how his contract was coming up, and he would go to the highest bidder. He continued to discuss it during his reign as the AEW World Champion. MJF missed several months due to injury, but he returned at AEW Double or Nothing. There, he emphasized that he was “all in” with AEW, making it clear that he would be staying for the foreseeable future.
In an interview with WrestleTalk, MJF commented on the bidding war of 2024 and claimed that he won it. (H/t WrestleTalk.com for the transcription)
“I won. I’m f**king rich as shit. It’s f**king crazy dude,” MJF said. ” I literally… you don’t f**king understand… I have so much money. It’s hilarious. The whole locker room f**king hates me because they all know how much I’m making, and they… it’s peanuts in comparison.
“And I’m only 28. So you’ve got guys walking around in their 40s that have given their body to this industry, they’re like dying practically, and they aren’t even making a fraction of what I make. It’s f**king great. Tony [Khan]… I mean, my god, my god, showed me the number – signed fast. Fast. Anyway, so yes, I won, to answer your question.”
