MJF will return to the ring on the June 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.
MJF had been sidelined since he lost the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End in December. He was recovering from injuries until he made his return at AEW Double or Nothing. There, he addressed his contract status and made it clear that he was not going anywhere.
“The Generational Talent” then returned to AEW Dynamite on the June 5 episode, and he was interrupted by RUSH. They went back and forth before they brawled. The newfound rivalry between the two continued on the June 12 episode. After RUSH scored a dominant victory, MJF came out and took the fight to “El Toro Blanco.” They attacked security guards who tried to stop them. The fight then spilled into the crowd and continued backstage before they were separated.
AEW then announced that MJF will face RUSH in the opening match on the June 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.
