Luka Modric was not the only one, as other renowned national captains like Robert Lewandowski, Kylian Mbappé, Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Virgil van Dijk, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Jan Oblak, Christian Pulisic, Radamel Falcao and Federico Valverde also voted for Lionel Messi for The Best Fifa Player of the Year.

The Croatian preferred to give his 5 points to “La Pulga”, completing his podium with Rodri and Marcelo Brozovic, midfielders who play respectively at Manchester City and Inter Milan (Brozovic being a compatriot).
