According to a Liverpool legend, Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has a specific goal on his mind.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could have ambitions to sign a new contract. He scored a penalty in the 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday. He is now ninth on the all-time Premier League goalscoring list, which Jamie Carragher believes could motivate Salah.

Carragher said while speaking on Sky Sports:

“He has Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard in his sights at the end of the season. I think such statistics are one of the main reasons why Mo Salah will sign a new contract at Liverpool.”

Salah on the heels of two PL stars

“Obviously they will talk about the money and the length of the contract, but I think these are things that really make Salah’s head spin, Carragher continued.

He’s breaking all the records at Liverpool, but getting as far down those lists as possible is a big part of his goal as a player. I’m not saying he’s selfish, he’s obviously a great team player.”

The ex-defender is obviously referring to the ranking of the best directors in the history of the Premier League. Salah has 162 pawns and occupies 9e rank of this very particular ranking, while Lampard is 6e (177) and Henry is 7e (175).
