Sadio Mane’s wife Aisha Tamba, 18, insisted she won’t let “money and fame” change her after marrying the Al-Nassr and Senegal striker this week last.

The couple tied the knot in the Senegalese capital of Dakar a week ago, and news of their marriage was announced on Tuesday. While Mané currently earns 800,000 euros per week at Al-Nassr, alongside players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Tamba is used to a much more modest lifestyle. The Daily Mail reports that the 18-year-old lives in a house in Dakar that can accommodate up to 30 family members at a time. But even though her life is about to change for the better, Tamba insists she will stay true to herself.

Speaking to the Daily Mail through a close friend, she spoke about the change: “I am looking forward to my new life and I know it will be very different. But I don’t feel any pressure, because Sadio’s fame and money won’t change me. That’s not what interests me. I will remain a humble person and attached to my faith. I’m not used to having that much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off or talk about our private lives. I’m a very down to earth person, that’s how I was raised, and nothing will be different because of this marriage. But I am very honored to now be Mrs. Mané.”

Tamba will join a long list of ‘WAGs’ at the Saudi Pro League club, none more famous than Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez, who boasts 55 million followers on Instagram. But the 18-year-old admitted she had no idea who Rodriguez was, adding: “I don’t know who she is and I’m not on social media.”
