Is Moose the mystery man recently spotted talking to Tony D’Angelo? Don’t count on it.
The @NXT_Anonymous Twitter account posted a video on Monday that featured Tony D’Angelo passing an envelope to a hooded figure. In the past, the account has been used to advance storylines seen on NXT. That looks to be the case again.
Fans immediately speculated about who could be under the hooded sweatshirt, with the most popular guesses being Moose and NXT’s Oba Femi.
WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard recently spoke with the former to promote his title match against Nic Nemeth at TNA Victory Road on Friday. During the conversation, Moose was asked if he’d seen the online chatter or if he wanted to share his thoughts on a potential debut in NXT. Moose quickly put the rumor to rest, noting he was in San Antonio doing media for TNA.
“It’s definitely not me because I’m here talking to you. I have no idea who it is,” Moose said.
“You’re at an undisclosed location with a wall behind you. It actually kinda looks like the [WWE Performance Center],” Nic Nemeth joked. “Is that Shawn Michaels? I’m not falling for this.”
Moose on Oba Femi
Moose said that he does regularly hear from fans about a possible match with Oba Femi, the reigning NXT North American Champion. However, he is focused on beating Nemeth at Victory Road and becoming a four-time world champion on Friday.
“Well, I have to go to a baseball game with that jackass that you just asked a bunch of questions to later on tonight,” Moose quipped. “It’s kind of impossible to be in two places at once but yeah, I get all of the mentions on my Twitter and the DM’s on my Instagram about a match with Oba Femi. If it ever happens, it will be great, but we’ll see. Now I’m focused on the man in front of me, Nic Nemeth, and being the 4-time TNA World Champion. That’s all that’s on my mind and that’s where my focus is.”
Stay tuned for our full interview with Moose and Nic Nemeth on WrestleZone. TNA Victory Road takes place at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio.
