Morgan Schneiderlin is ending his professional football career. At 34, the midfielder who played for Strasbourg, Nice, Southampton, Everton and Manchester United is retiring after a long career in which he played 481 matches, scored 19 goals and provided 15 assists, in addition to his 15 caps for the French national team.

In a video published on his Instagram account, the Alsatian thanks all his former clubs and the people who were important to him during his career. The Frenchman’s last club was AE Kifisia in Greece, for which he played nine games this season. After 18 years at the highest level, Schneiderlin is therefore ending a career during which he notably won the Europa League with Manchester United and played in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with Didier Deschamps’ Blues.
