The CAN 2025 qualifiers have started well for Morocco.

Morocco negotiated their entry into the CAN 2025 qualifiers well by dominating Gabon (4-1) on Friday evening in a match with four penalties. Hakim Ziyech scored two (10th, 26th), while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed his first attempt (16th), but not the second (40th). The Atlas Lions increased the score in the second half through Brahim Diaz (59th) and Ayoub El Kaabi (82nd).

At the same time, Ivory Coast took a while to dominate Zambia (2-0), thanks to a double from Paris FC player Jean-Philippe Krasso (73rd, 84th), who came on 20 minutes from the end.

Egypt easily beat Cape Verde (3-0), while Senegal were held to a draw by Burkina Faso (1-1), with an equaliser from Ousseni Bouda (90th+5) while Sadio Mané had quickly opened the scoring (16th).
