Disney+ confirmed today that the second season of Moving is in development, after the Korean series ranked as the number one Korean original globally on the streamer.
This marks a continuation of Disney+’s collaboration with Kangfull, creator of Moving as well as Light Shop. The first four episodes of Light Shop will debut on Disney+ on December 4.
Moving is an action fantasy series starring Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung and Cha Tae-hyun.
Based on Kangfull’s webtoon of the same name, it follows a trio of teenage high school students who discover that they have superpowers.
“Moving is an action fantasy series but at its core, it is a coming-of-age story about friendship, family and human relationships,” said Carol Choi, Executive Vice President of Original Content Strategy, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific.
The series first premiered on Disney+ in August 2023, and later received the most number of nominations (seven) in the television category at Korea‘s Baeksang Arts Awards.
Moving won the Grand Prize, with writer Kangfull receiving the Best Screenplay award and actor Lee Jungha winning Best New Actor.
Moving also swept several prizes at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards, including Best Creative, Best Lead Actor, Best Writer, Best Newcomer Actor and Actress, and Best Visual Effects awards.
