Popular comedian and skit maker, Mr Macaroni, has criticized singer Wizkid for targeting veteran producer and music executive, Don Jazzy.
Wizkid took a jab at Don Jazzy in response to a shade thrown at him by Mavin signee, Ladipoe.
Wizkid boasted, “I am never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer,” when Ladipoe’s shade caught his attention.
He also retweeted tweets implying that he was referring to Don Jazzy as merely a social media influencer.
Responding via his handle on Monday afternoon, Mr Macaroni said that while Don Jazzy wields influence across music, content, films, and brands, the manner in which Wizkid labeled him as “an influencer” was disrespectful to “everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry.”
He emphasized that Don Jazzy is an “absolute legend” who selflessly supports many entertainers in the country regardless of their status.
Mr Macaroni wrote: “Donjazzy is perhaps the biggest Entertainment Influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his influence cuts across. From music, to contents, films, brands etc.
“However, we would all be hypocrites to say that the context in which he was called an influencer isn’t disrespectful to everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry.
“An absolute legend. He promotes Music Artistes even outside his record label. Gives free advice and visibility to up and coming artists, shows love to everyone irrespective of their status. I am also a beneficiary of his phenomenal influence! Don Baba J!!!! Your Influence Choke!!!”
