Present at the Globe Soccer Awards this Friday, a ceremony organized each year in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to reward the best football players of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo stood out with several strong outings. If he did not spare Ligue 1 when comparing it with the Saudi Pro League, which he already considers superior to the French championship, the Portuguese also praised the performance of Manchester City, which “did an incredible job last season. Congratulations on their season. I like to see them play.”.

A statement that does not go down well with Manchester United supporters. The former star of the Mancunian club, who spent between 2003 and 2009, then returned between 2021 and 2022, has, in fact, suffered a lot of criticism from Red Devils fans after his release. As a reminder, his return to Old Trafford ended on a very bitter note in 2022, after being left out of the club under Erik ten Hag, before criticizing the club in a stinging interview at the end of the year.
