If the loan to Borussia Dortmund was a breath of fresh air for Jadon Sancho, his start to the season was marred by a catastrophic situation at Manchester United. The reason, a sporting choice according to Erik ten Hag from the start of the school year, with exclusion from the group. A decision contested by the Englishman, who had commented on his situation by saying that he was a “scapegoat” on social networks. The Dutch technician demanded an apology which he did not obtain, causing this dismissal and his departure to Dortmund.

Benni McCarthy, member of Erik ten Hag’s staff and close to the 24-year-old winger, explained his version of the facts on the radio 947 Joburg. “The coach has a strong character and he said everything he thought. Jadon didn’t think he’d done anything wrong, but his apology was expected and he didn’t see why he had to offer it. I’ve spoken to Jadon as a coach, as a mentor, and as a friend. He told me he wouldn’t apologize, because if he did he would have to apologize for being lazy late and not giving his best, which was not the case. All this could have been avoided with better communication.he said.
