The allegations pertained to two separate incidents from March 2008 and October 2010.
Tanushree Dutta On The Case
Following the verdict of the court, Tanushree takes to social media to share her view on the court’s decision on rejecting her MeToo complaint against Nana Patekar. She said, “Hello everyone, I have very good news to share!! The court has cancelled the B-summary report filed by the Mumbai Police on the Horn ok please sexual harassment complaint against Nana Patekar and others. The police had tried to close the case in 2019 by citing a false and malicious B-summary report without even talking to any of my witnesses. Meanwhile my witnesses all were getting threats by Nana’s goons and underworld liasons. Recently, one of our prime witness directly deposited her testimony against Patekar in court and corroborated my whole complaint and also the fact that she was pressured into silence by unknown men threatening her over Phone. The court took cognizance of this witness testimony via a filed affidavit. They came to the conclusion that the B summary report by the police cannot be accepted by court. So we have won this case and now the Mumbai Police will have to file a chargesheet on the matter”.

About The Case
However, following an extensive investigation, the Oshiwara police found no substantial evidence supporting Dutta’s claims. They classified the complaints as false. Consequently, they submitted closure reports, recommending the dismissal of the cases.
On Friday, Metropolitan Magistrate NV Bansal ruled in favor of closing the first case. Citing that the FIR, filed a decade after the alleged incident. Which exceeded the three-year statutory limitation under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Regarding the second case, which involved specific accusations against Siddhiqui. The court determined that there was no mens rea (guilty intent) and insufficient grounds to pursue legal action against him.
With these rulings, the long-standing legal battle between Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar, along with the others named in the case, has come to an official end.
