Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City are on alert as Jamal Musiala refuses to sign his new contract with Bayern Munich.

The Cityzens and Reds are long-time admirers of the Germany international and have sent scouts to observe him during Bayern Munich’s recent matches. According to the Daily Star, the Bundesliga club offered Musiala a new contract which would have seen him earn 150,000 pounds per week from next season, but the player reportedly refused to sign.

The reigning European and English champions are determined to complete a deal for the attacking midfielder, but they will face stiff competition from the Mersey side. Another Premier League giant, Chelsea, is also keen to sign the 21-year-old.

Musiala very efficient

The former Chelsea young product has performed well with the Bavarian club this season, scoring nine goals in 28 matches in all competitions and providing four assists.

Bayern Munich will face Lazio in the Champions League round of 16 second leg on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena.
