Award-winning cinematographer and music producer, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori has addressed claims that his music industry peers failed to provide financial support during his health crisis.
Omori, who has been battling kidney disease, underwent a transplant on August 26 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos. Despite undergoing three surgeries, Omori revealed that the transplant was unsuccessful.
Singer Portable had on Sunday sparked controversy by criticizing celebrities for not funding Omori’s treatment, contrasting it with the donations made to Bobrisky, who was jailed for currency abuse.
Portable described the music industry’s unity as “fake.”
He said, “TG Omori has a kidney problem and celebrities are not donating money or kidneys for him.
“But Victor Osimhen and others donated money for Bobrisky who has no value. The industry is full of fake love.”
In response, TG Omori on X.com on Sunday revealed that he had received support from industry colleagues and friends even before his health issues became public.
He said, “All I needed was your prayers, moral support, and love. This I am grateful to have gotten in abundance.
“The industry and friends have been solidly behind me months before it all came public. Please ignore the clout-desperate dogs.”
