As the Manchester United academy continues to produce players for the first-team, excitement builds over the next crop of youngsters coming through the ranks.

Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have become first-team regulars under Erik ten Hag, while Willy Kambwala is the latest prospect to get a chance due to the ongoing injury crisis in defence.

The latest batch of U18 talents will be looking to follow in their footsteps after winning the Premier League North division earlier this week, after a 2-1 win over Wolves.

Ten Hag congratulated the players and staff at Carrington and they will be hoping to work their way into his plans for the future.

Former United academy player Danny Webber has named four of the U18 players who have caught his eye.

The MUTV pundit told The Debate: “It’s development football first and foremost but it’s where you start learning you have to win football matches as well, it’s getting that blend right, learning, pricking up everything from the seniors, thinking ‘I want to be a part of it’.

“You’ve got to win games, you’ve got to learn how to be a team, it’s not about individuals, and you can see as a result of that, they have shone as individuals that have had fantastic games.

“The likes of Ethan Williams has been outstanding, Shea Lacey, Finley McAllister, you could go on and on and on, Harry Amass who has come in from Watford, has been outstanding. Within that team structure, they learn how to shine as individuals, and get the rewards for it.”

Moreover, in recent weeks we have seen Harry Amass make the first team bench, while Ethan Williams and Shea Lacey have both trained with Ten Hag’s first team.
