MVP made his return to the WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble match. Since then, there has been no looking back for the former United States Champion.
After returning to the company, MVP hasn’t wrestled in the ring too much but he has made a profound impact as a manager as well as behind the scenes. He first started managing Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Business for a couple of years.
Once their pairing was done, MVP moved on to manage Omos. MVP currently serves as Omos’ manager and has gotten him involved in some crucial storylines like the one with Braun Strowman. His impact on the RAW brand can be credited to Paul Heyman who was responsible for bringing him back to the company. However, the reason Heyman brought him back might surprise many fans.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet during the premiere of Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez, MVP revealed that Paul Heyman brought him back to replace himself.
“Well, you know Paul Heyman has been an extremely influential figure in my career. You know, he said publicly and privately he said ‘I didn’t bring you here to compete with me. I brought you here to replace me’. And that’s praise from Caesar”
MVP was then asked about the biggest thing he learned from Paul Heyman. To this, MVP replied that he learned a lot about presentation.
“Presentation. Presentation. Everything is presentation. I could say a sentence to you one way and I present it to you and it has a completely different context if I present it to you another way. Same words just all in how I present it to you”
MVP was last seen at the 2024 Royal Rumble where he accompanied Omos who participated in the Men’s Royal Rumble match which was eventually won by Cody Rhodes.
