Myla Grace wants a piece of the WWE pie.
The latest chapter of WWE’s forbidden-door ventures revealed dream matches in two of Japan’s prominent promotions, the first being Pro Wrestling NOAH. The second was the recently-birthed Dream Star Fighting Marigold, which positioned former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY against its own Utami Hayashishita. With the door between WWE and Marigold now opened, Marigold’s Myla Grace spoke with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay about the possibility of working with specific WWE Superstars in the future, one of them being her real-life friend Nikki Cross.
“Obviously I would definitely love to wrestle Nikki [Cross]. I feel like that’s a match that needs to happen. I would love to wrestle Rhea [Ripley], I love wrestling big girls. Feel like as well I need to wrestle Lyra [Valkyria] because I knew her in the indies. I knew her in Ireland. We’ve trained together and stuff, but we never wrestled, not even like a tag match, not even a rumble, nothing. We always just missed each other.”
“When I made my debut, it was me and another trainee for a while against each other while she was in the women’s division. It was like, this is your last [training] match, now you’ll be in the women’s division, and then the promotion closed down. Then she got sent to NXT UK, and then I went down NXT UK, but she got injured. Then when she got cleared, she went to America, so we’ve just kept missing each other. I feel like that is a match that it has to happen sometime.”
As Grace mentioned, she and fellow Ireland native Lyra Valkyria trained and work in similar circles both on the independent scene and later, WWE NXT. As of July 2024, though, the two have yet to square up. Currently, Grace is a member of the Marigold roster, while Valkyria remains a part of the WWE Raw brand.
Myla Grace Praises Nikki Cross’ Run In The Wyatt Sicks
Nikki Cross has not wrestled since November 2023. She has, however, taken on a new horror-esque persona inspired by Abby The Witch of the former Firefly Fun House. In this new role, Cross also finds herself in the Wyatt Sicks stable, which is led by Uncle Howdy (aka Bo Dallas).
“I’ve kind of still been trying to work out how to watch wrestling over here, but I have been keeping up with that because I’m like, what is she doing? She’s a scary b*tch,” Myla Grace said of Cross. “I have to see this. I’m so intrigued.”
“… I’m not a horror fan, but I think it’s so cool. It just draws you in. You just have to watch it. It’s one thing that I cannot miss. The second I say that they have a promo or a package or whatever, I straight on need to go watch it. I just think it’s amazing to see because she’s so, so talented. I feel like it’s more suited to her. It’s really, really exciting. I love it for her.”‘
