A vignette on the March 14th episode of WWE SmackDown sparked a lot of buzz, as fans speculated about the video.
On Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, a brief vignette showed a luchador. The video also featured lightning strikes. The masked man was not identified, but glimpses of him led fans to speculate that the mystery man was former AEW star Rey Fenix.

His brother and tag team partner, Penta, left AEW and signed with WWE, as he made his debut in January. Fenix has increasingly been linked to WWE since then. The company has reportedly worked on creative and marketing materials for him. He left AEW in March, and he is expected to sign with WWE, per multiple reports.
Fenix is a former AEW International Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champion. He and Penta also held the ROH World Tag Team Championship, among other accolades.
