Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive), Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One), Michael Imperioli (The White Lotus) and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead franchise) have signed on to star in The Housewife, a psychological drama from first-time feature filmmaker Ben Shirinian that is launching foreign sales at EFM via Neon International.

Based on a true story from 1964, the film follows a determined young New York Times journalist (Sheridan) as he tracks down a potential Nazi officer living secretly in Queens. When he befriends the suspect’s elegant and charming wife (Watts), the implications of his investigation become much more unsettling.

Robbie Brenner (Barbie, Dallas Buyers Club), Kevin McKeon (Call Jane), and Lee Broda (May December) are producing alongside EP Alyssa Hill, who also penned the script. CAA Media Finance is repping domestic rights. Production is set to commence in June.

Currently starring as magazine editor Babe Paley in Ryan Murphy’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, Watts most recently wrapped production on the erotic drama Emmanuelle from Happening‘s Audrey Diwan.

Sheridan stars opposite Sean Penn in the Cannes-premiering paramedic thriller Asphalt City (fka Black Flies), out in theaters March 29th. Other upcoming projects include Justin Kurzel’s The Order and Rupert Sanders’s adaptation of The Things They Carried.

Best known for roles on The Sopranos and The White Lotus, Imperioli also appears on Hulu’s This Fool and will be seen coming up in Oh, Canada, the newest film from Academy Award nominee Paul Schrader.

Reedus can currently be seen reprising his fan-favorite Walking Dead role of Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon after starring in all 11 seasons of the original zombie series. Most recently, he wrapped production on Len Wiseman’s female-driven John Wick spin-off Ballerina opposite Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas.

Garnering seven Academy Award nominations for Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall, Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days and animated feature Robot Dreams, Neon launched its international sales outfit ahead of last year’s Venice Film Festival. The company acquired world rights to the Steven Soderbergh horror pic Presence out of Sundance and also has on its upcoming slate projects including It Follows sequel They Follow. Set to premiere at this year’s Berlin Film Festival is its horror thriller Cuckoo starring Euphoria‘s Hunter Schafer.

Watts is represented by Untitled Entertainment and CAA; Sheridan by Mosaic and WME; Imperioli by Anonymous Content and Gersh; Reedus by CAA and Linden Entertainment; and Shirinian by CAA.
