 'Fighting For His Life'

Manuel Masalva is currently in a medically induced coma after contracting a bacterial infection while traveling.

On Thursday (April 3), Manuel‘s friend, Mario Morán, revealed in a TikTok that the 43-year-old actor is “fighting for his life” after falling victim to a “very aggressive virus” while on vacation.

“As of today, his situation remains delicate,” Mario said in Spanish in the video.

Mario, who described Manuel as “one of [his] best friends,” urged people to donate to Manuel‘s GoFundMe page to help pay for his treatment.

“The medical costs are enormous and in a country where everything is more difficult, any help, no matter how small, can make the difference in this very difficult moment,” he said.

While Manuel‘s exact diagnosis has not been publicly shared, an update says that doctors were able to identify the bacteria, and he is currently “in critical condition” while being treated with antibiotics.

“We’re waiting for him to begin to improve. Thank you for continuing to share this campaign on your social media so we can reach more people who can help. Together, we can make a huge difference for Manuel and provide him with the strength and support he needs to recover,” the post reads.

Manuel has had roles in Netflix projects such as Narcos: Mexico, La Guzmán, and The Secret of the Greco Family.
