NBC empowers 1,700 Anambra, Kano youths

The Nigerian Bottling Company Limited has announced that it has concluded its #YouthEmpowered training in Kano and Anambra States, benefiting over 1,700 youths with essential skills for corporate careers and entrepreneurship success.

 According to a statement, #YouthEmpowered is a cornerstone of NBC’s commitment to youth development and job creation in Nigeria, which offers critical skills needed for professional advancement and economic empowerment.

The firm noted that participants in Kano and Anambra engaged in hands-on training sessions covering key areas, such as optimising LinkedIn profiles for career visibility, mastering project management, leveraging AI-driven business innovations, and navigating strategic negotiations for business.

The Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Lead at Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd, Olukemi Ogunsakin, said, “Recognising the vital role young Nigerians play in shaping our country’s future, we are proud to have completed training sessions in Kano and Anambra States.

“Through #YouthEmpowered, we have reached over 50,000 youths across 12 cities. This latest edition in Kano and Anambra empowered over 1,700, more young Nigerians with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.”

She mentioned that a standout of the program was the Director’s Business Grant, where participants pitched ideas for a chance to secure funding, highlighting NBC’s commitment to training and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Also, the co-founder and Executive Director of Mind the Gap, Tayo Olosunde, said, “As proud implementing partners of the #YouthEmpowered initiative, it is inspiring to witness its transformative impact. We see firsthand how this program equips young people with essential skills.

 A winner of the Director’s Business Grant, Aisha-Abubakar Abbas from Kano State, said, “This training has given me the confidence to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams.”
