'NCIS' Showrunner George Schenck Passes Away at 82

Former NCIS showrunner George Schenck has passed away at the age of 82.

He was also a TV writer and producer on the CBS drama. He passed at his home in Brentwood, California on August 3.

One of the show’s stars released a statement about his passing.

“So sorry to hear the news on George,” NCIS star Mark Harmon said in a statement (via Variety). “The professionalism and tenacity of George and [producing partner Frank Cardea] changed the face of the show. I’m so appreciative of the team and teamwork they both represented.”

After writing more than 40 episodes of the show, he officially retired in 2018.
