10 Nigeria international and Leicester City midfield strongman, Wilfred Ndidi, has thumbed up the appointment of Finidi George as Super Eagles Head Coach, saying it is well deserved, Completesports.com reports.
Ndidi who was at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja for undisclosed reason also commended the Nigeria Football Federation for appointing the Rivers State born gaffer to take charge of the Super Eagles for the world cup and AFCON qualifiers.
“Finidi is an amazing coach, we worked with him in our two friendly games in Morocco and he impressed us with the way he executed the two games against Ghana and Mali without any assistant coaches, just him and his other officials,” Ndidi told Completesports.com.

It is not easy for one man to do all that. We are good to go with him. He is humble and amazing. I think I will say congratulations and see what happens in the future,” Ndidi who just won promotion with Leicester City back to English Premier league stated.
On next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Ndidi says he and Super Eagles teammates are focused on the crucial matches against South Africa and Benin Republic, adding that they know the team is not in a good position in the African qualifiers Group C table and must do everything possible to improve from the current third place behind Rwanda and South Africa.
“We know how important those two games are to us and we won’t allow it to slip away. It will be tough games, not easy ones but we shall see to it that we do not slip again,” he assured.
Ndidi also reflects on the Leicester City’s successful campaign in the 2023/2024 EFL Championship season.

“It is good to be back to the Premier League after being relegated and struggling back to EPL is actually something we don’t want to go back to again. I think morale is high, expectation is high, we have to ensure we do not return to the Championship. It’s a tough place to play,” Ndidi remarked.
He however is not desperate about moving to a new club since Leicester City still want him to stay which is important for him.
“If a good chance comes, I won’t mind trying my luck elsewhere but for now I remain a Leicester City player,” Ndidi concluded.
