New APC Chairman Reveals Party’s Plan To Work With Fubara After Court Sacked Wike’s Man

Emeka Beke, the reinstated Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, stated on Tuesday that the party is open to working with Governor Sim Fubara,

This came after the court sacked the APC caretaker committee Chairman in the State, Tony Okocha, a strong ally of the FCT, Nyesom Wike. The court also reinstated Beke as the APC Chairman.

Speaking on working with Fubara, Beke stated that it will happen but only if the Governor extends an olive branch to the APC. During an interview on Arise TV’s Morning Show, Beke emphasized the need for unity in the state, asserting that “Rivers is going backwards” and that it’s time to focus on governance, not political infighting.

Beke clarified that former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has no connection with Fubara, despite past associations. He stressed that the state cannot afford to have “two governors” and that the newly elected governor should be allowed to perform his duties.

The ongoing rift between Governor Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, which has impacted the state legislature, remains unresolved despite efforts from key stakeholders, including President Bola Tinubu.
