Here are the results for the New Japan Cup 2024 Final show. The event took place in Nagaoka, Niigata, Japan in the Aore Nagaoka arena. The show will feature the final of the New Japan Cup, with Hirooki Goto vs Yota Tsuji vying to be named the winner of the tournament.

Katsuya Murashima & Shoma Kato vs Los Ingobernables De Japon (BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi)

BUSHI forced Kato to tap out with a crab

This was a decent match, with some well-paced action to get the crowd warmed up. The Young Lions performed well, even in defeat to their LiJ opponents.

Ryusuke Taguchi, Tanga Loa & Tomohiro Ishii vs United Empire (Francesco Akira, TJP & Great-O-Khan)

Akira pinned Taguchi after a double running knee

I wasn’t expecting a lot from this match, considering some of the matches involving Loa from the past week. However, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Everybody tried their best, with TJP & Akira particularly impressing in the ring.

TMDK (Mikey Nicholls & Zack Sabre Jr.) vs United Empire (Callum Newman & Jeff Cobb)

Nicholls pinned Newman with the Mikey Driver

Another great outing by TMDK adds to the bafflement of why ZSJ isn’t in the main event. The picked up another win on the tour, this time against United Empire, with Nicholls getting the win once again for his side.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Togi Makabe & YOSHI-HASHI vs BULLET CLUB (Gabe Kidd, Chase Owens & KENTA)

Owens pinned Tenzen after KENTA hit him with a title belt

Another typical Bullet Club match. Chaos in the ring led to huge brawls all around ringside, allowing BC to take control of the contest.

KENTA hit Tenzan with the tag team title, leaving Owens to pin him to win the match for his side.

El Desperado, Yuji Nagata & Shota Umino vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Yujiro Takahashi, Jack Perry & Ren Narita)

Narita forced Nagata to tap with a Cobra Twist.

This actually wasn’t too egregious from HoT. It wasn’t a great match, but it wasn’t offensive to watch.

The crowd were heavily invested in the match, even when it descended into chaos with cheating from the heels.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs YOH

YOH pinned Kanemaru with a roll-up

If you thought you might have already had your fix of House of Torture nonsense, don’t worry. They attacked YOH as the match started, so you’ve had another match ruined for you.

HoT continued to interfere, but YOH managed to steal a win by rolling up his opponent to win the bout.

Boltin Oleg, Jado, Toru Yano, El Phantasmo & Hikuleo vs Just Five Guys (TAKA Michinoku, DOUKI, Yuya Uemura, Taichi & SANADA)

ELP pinned TAKA after a Thunder Kidd ’86

For the first time in the tour, all of J5G teamed together for a match. Sadly it wasn’t that great. It never tried to be a serious encounter, and looked like a way to get all the five men’s main offence in, in the time allotted.

ELP pinned Taka to win the bout for his side, adding another loss for J5G at the end of this gruelling tour.

Los Ingobernables De Japon (Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Dick Togo & EVIL)

Naito pinned Togo with a roll-up.

A better HoT outing, this match turned out to be. It looked like it was back-to-basics early on, when both teams were counted out and the match declared a draw.

However, Shingo Tagaki issued the challenge to both men, and the match was restarted.

A ref bump gave HoT the chance to start cheating against their opponent. However, Naito saw this coming, and managed to reverse into a pinfall on Togo to win the bout.

After the match, Shingo challenged Dick Togo in a NEVER Openweight Championship.

New Japan Cup Final: Hirooki Goto vs Yota Tsuji

Tsuji pinned Goto after a Gene Blaster.

Goto was attempting to win his record fourth New Japan Cup. He won three Cups but never won the IWGP Heavyweight Title, and this seemed like the last-chance saloon for the CHAOS member.

The match a slow-paced affair, although it seemed less deliberate and more working around Goto’s current work rate.

However, it had a fun ending sequence. Both men hit some big moves, which included Goto being the first man to kick out of the Gene Blaster. However, he could not take a second, and Tsuji pinned him to become the winner of the 2024 New Japan Cup.

Yuti Tsuji will now face LiJ teammate Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Sakura Genesis.
