Former United goalkeeper Van Nistelrooy rejoins the club 18 years after leaving for Real Madrid.
On the other hand, Hake joins from Go Ahead Eagles, after guiding Ten Hag’s former club to ninth in the Eredivisie last season. He previously worked with the United manager at youth level at Twente.
Benni McCarthy, who worked as a coach with United’s forward players, has left the club. He was popular with several members of the squad.
