The November 26 episode of WWE NXT brought two title matches, the NXT North American Title is always bound to bring a lot of drama and this week was no different.

Tony D’Angelo is on a high after beating Oba Femi to retain his NXT North American Title at Halloween Havoc. He met quite a test against the Chairman Shawn Spears during this week’s episode.

This match came at the end of NXT’s first hour, and fans were ready for the first title match of the night. Brooks Jensen was by Spears’ side for this match, and the former AEW star had control of the contest when they cut to commercial after a bit of wrestling.

In the end, Tony D’Angelo took a lot of damage, but he kept fighting back. He eventually won the match to retain his title with a clean pinfall victory. After the match, a new NXT Superstar named Niko Vance took out Tony D. Then he posed over The Don alongside Shawn Spear and Brooks Jensen. The three also gave Adriana Rizzo, who stood on the apron, a look as the segment closed out.

Shawn Spears, who used to be known as Tye Dillnger during his first WWE run, left the company for a multi-year run stint with AEW. After his tenure with Tony Khan’s company ended, he returned to WWE under his Spears name, and he had a lot more experience under his belt. Now he is leading a new stable in the brand, and Niko is in the mix.
