Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they identify the wrestlers that the promotion wants to focus on while giving fans something simple to understand. Anyone can understand that someone with a shiny belt is worth looking at, making a title win that much more important. That is what we saw over the weekend in a big way.

Over the weekend at TNA Genesis, Joe Hendry defeated Nic Nemeth to win the TNA World Title for the first time in his career. Hendry had been chasing the title for several months, including during his appearances on NXT throughout last year. The match was a rematch from Bound For Glory 2024 where Nemeth defeated Hendry to retain the title and ends Nemeth’s reign at 184 days.
Hendry is a star. Check out his time in NXT:
Opinion: This is something that has been building for a long time and it is nice to see it finally take place. Hendry is the biggest star that TNA has to offer and it makes sense for the company to get what they can out of him while they can. That appears to be what they are trying to do, as it would not stun me to see Hendry showing up on a much bigger stage when he is allowed to do so.
What do you think of Hendry? How will his title reign go? Let us know in the comments below.
