Since his arrival at Newcastle in 2023, Anthony Gordon has entered the hearts of the Magpies. Considered an irremovable starter in the eyes of Eddie Howe, the English winger has achieved several great performances with the residents of St. James Park, both in the Premier League and the Champions League. Obviously, a contract extension was largely possible for the 23-year-old England international (7 caps). And since this Tuesday, it is now official:
“Newcastle United are delighted to announce that Anthony Gordon has signed a new long-term contract at St. James’ Park. The 23-year-old joined the Magpies in January 2023 and has become a key part of Eddie Howe’s side, scoring 15 goals and registering 11 assists in 74 appearances. As well as playing in European competition for the first time in his career since joining the club, making six appearances in the UEFA Champions League, Anthony has also continued to impress on the international stage. He was named Player of the Tournament at the UEFA European Under-21 Championships in the summer of 2023, with England emerging victorious, beating Spain 1-0 in the final. Anthony’s performances for club and country were rewarded with a full international debut in March 2024 when the Three Lions hosted Brazil at Wembley – the first of seven senior caps so far – and he was part of the England team that finished second at UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany.»
