Newcastle United have so far had a quiet summer transfer window.
Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth is the Magpies’ only first-team signing, but according to recent reports, Eddie Howe could complete at least one late deal before Friday night’s deadline.
A recent report from TBR Football claims the Geordies are weighing up making Everton a late offer to sign striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Newcastle United considering late move for Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The English forward remains the Toffees’ first-choice striker but with no room left in their budget to make their own signings, Everton may be forced to sanction the 27-year-old’s departure.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could leave Everton and join Newcastle United before Friday’s transfer deadline. The Merseyside club are believed to be open to including their number nine in discussions to bring in a new defender.

Full-back Kieran Trippier recently lost the Newcastle captaincy to Bruno Guimaraes and was informed Tino Livaramento will be Howe’s main right-back this season. Consequently, the experienced England international now wants to leave St. James’ Park in favour of guaranteed playing time — something Everton are prepared to offer him.
Although an agreement for both players would be two separate transfers, the inclusion of Calvert-Lewin in negotiations would certainly help the Toffees work out a deal to bring Trippier to Goodison Park before Friday’s deadline.
