Newcastle United have several players who are set to be out of contract in the summer.
In particular, the agreements of backup goalkeepers Loris Karius and Mark Gillespie, centre-back Paul Dummett, and midfielder Matt Ritchie are all set to run out in June.
The contract situation of club captain Jamaal Lascelles, which ends in late June, also remains uncertain. Nonetheless, manager Eddie Howe expresses confidence in securing the defender’s continued presence at the club.
Among those expected to depart from St. James’ Park is former Liverpool goalkeeper Karius, who has yet to make an appearance for the club in the Premier League.
Likewise, another keeper, Mark Gillespie, has yet to make his league debut for Newcastle, despite signing with the club three-and-a-half years ago.
Both Dummett and Ritchie were given a one-year extension last summer and are also poised to depart from the club.

The club, despite their financial resources, are forced to work cautiously in the transfer market to avoid breaching any FFP or PSR rules.
Newcastle will be expected to sell a few players in the upcoming window in order to make way for new signings, which is why it is possible that the aforementioned players will be let go.
