It’s a moment that Newcastle fans have been waiting for weeks. This Sunday afternoon, Sandro Tonali made his return to the Premier League pitches, during Newcastle – Tottenham. Coming on in the 68th minute of play in place of Sean Longstaff, the 24-year-old Italian was cheered by all the supporters of the Magpies present at St-James Park.
A return after 316 days away from the football pitch. As a reminder, Tonali had been suspended for ten months by the Italian Federation (FIGC), following multiple bets on sports betting. He had already played again with Newcastle, Wednesday, in the League Cup at Nottingham Forest (1-1; 3-4 on penalties).
