Newcastle United and Aston Villa are reportedly keen on the Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.
The two clubs could look to make a move for the 23-year-old midfielder at the end of the season. A report from Football Insider claims that Arsenal are considering selling the player at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen where he ends up.
Smith Rowe has struggled for regular game time at the North London club this season since his return from injury. He needs to play more often at this stage of his career and leaving Arsenal would be ideal for him if they cannot provide him with ample first-team opportunities.
Newcastle could certainly use more creativity and goals in the midfield and Smith Rowe would be a solid, long-term acquisition. He was regarded as one of the finest prospects in the Premier League before his injury and Eddie Howe could help him develop into a key player for Newcastle in the coming seasons.
If they can snap him up for a reasonable price at the end of the season, the deal could look like a bargain in the summer.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa need to strengthen their squad as well. They are currently pushing for European qualification and Unai Emery needs a deeper squad in order to push for major trophies in the coming seasons.
Emile Smith Rowe in action
The 23-year-old midfielder will add craft, technical ability and goals from the central areas. He is versatile enough to operate as a winger as well. There is no doubt that he has the potential potential to develop into a top class playmaker in the Premier League.
Emery worked with the midfielder during his time at Arsenal and the Spaniard is reportedly keen on a reunion.
