Leading clubs in Europe are showing interest in Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes.

Newcastle might have the opportunity to turn a profit and reinvest in the team if interested teams are able to buy Guimaraes for a significant sum of money thanks to a release clause in his contract.

Considering the performances that Guimaraes has given at St. James’ Park, he will probably continue to draw attention even with his new contract.

It will be difficult for the North East team to qualify for the Champions League, and it is certain that the 26-year-old will be aiming to participate in the biggest competition in Europe.

According to journalist Dean Jones, who spoke with GIVEMESPORT, he thinks the Brazilian international may get offers during the summer transfer window.

Jones believes Guimaraes is expected to receive offers to leave St. James’ Park during the summer transfer window, and when the market opens later this year, it will be an interesting scenario.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said:

“Yeah, it’s great when you see him take games into his own hands and make a difference. We know that he is capable of this. But I think also actually, this is one of the things that makes Newcastle very interesting once we get to the summer transfer window because I think he’s priceless. The next transfer window is going to be interesting because I do think there will be offers to take him away from Newcastle.”

Both Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly keeping an eye on Guimaraes, and both Premier League teams enquired about his availability from Newcastle last summer, according to 90min.

Selling a player as great as Guimaraes will, of course, bring in the maximum money if the Magpies need to balance the books during the summer transfer window. But losing the Brazilian midfielder will severely deplete their strength, so they could try to make some money off of some of Eddie Howe’s other players.

Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier are probably going to depart the team as Newcastle look to raise money.
