Some very interesting odds on Premier League top four (and other possibilities) for the 2024/25 season where Newcastle United are concerned, with bookies taking stock after Saturday’s win over Arsenal.
That massive victory achieved for NUFC in this tenth PL round of matches.
The Premier League now set to head into the November international break, after Newcastle United visit the City Ground next Sunday.
The bookies and punters reacting to how things now stand in the Premier League table (see below), as well of course, how they are now seeing the underlying strengths of the various teams and squads.
Listed below are the general Premier League odds now available from the various bookies for the 2024/25 season (in brackets are what the odds were after the opening round of PL games):
Win the Premier League:
6/4 (11/8) Man City
2/1 (13/2) Liverpool
4/1 (9/5) Arsenal
20/1 (40/1) Chelsea
40/1 (33/1) Tottenham
125/1 (66/1) Aston Villa
200/1 (40/1 Newcastle United
200/1 (1,000/1) Nottingham Forest
200/1 (28/1) Man U
300/1 (200/1) Brighton
So Newcastle United now rated equal seventh most likely…
Looking interesting at the very top, maybe the most difficult to predict Premier League for some time, especially with Man City having now won only three of their last six PL matches, including that defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.
This is how the Premier League table looks today (Monday 4 November 2024):
Premier League relegation:
1/3 (1/1) Southampton
1/2 (10/11) Ipswich
10/11 (1/2) Leicester
6/4 (7/2) Wolves
5/2 (5/2) Everton
6/1 (10/1) Palace
12/1 (12/1) Man City
14/1 (20/1) West Ham
16/1 (7/1) Brentford
25/1 (11/2) Fulham
50/1 (3/1) Forest
66/1 (7/1) Bournemouth
150/1 (40/1) Chelsea
250/1 (40/1) Brighton
300/1 (250/1) Man U
500/1 (250/1) Newcastle United
500/1 (200/1) Villa
2.000/1 (250/1) Tottenham
2,000/1 (2,000/1) Liverpool
2,000/1 (2,000/1) Arsenal
Eddie Howe’s team now seen as joint fourth least likely to go down in the 2024/25 season.
If you are wondering about the Man City 12/1 odds of relegation, this is due to the possibility (probability?) of severe punishment from the 115 Premier League charges they face, which could include amongst other sanctions, points deduction or even relegation. That hearing now reported to be ongoing.
Finish Premier League top four:
1/12 (1/2) Liverpool
1/8 (1/9) Arsenal
1/5 (1/7) Man City
8/11 (9/4) Chelsea
5/2 (9/4) Tottenham
5/1 (7/2) Villa
6/1 (9/4) Newcastle United
7/1 (11/1) Brighton
11/1 (2/1) Man U
25/1 (100/1) Forest
28/1 (100/1) Bournemouth
80/1 (66/1) Fulham
This is where, like me, I guess you will be giving most focus.
Can Newcastle United bounce back into the Premier League top four and get Champions League football?
Well the bookies now have NUFC seventh most likely, after that win over Arsenal.
Recent defeats had seen United drift out to far higher odds, despite generally decent performances. Now a question of can Eddie Howe’s side build on finally getting the wins they deserve, against Chelsea in the cup and the Gunners in the Premier League.
As the table shows above, Newcastle United only three points off the Premier League top four, having in their opening ten matches already faced Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Brighton, Bournemouth and Chelsea, six of the nine teams currently above them.
