Newcastle United contracts update – The full picture after official club announcement

An update on the Newcastle United squad contracts front.

This follows Wednesday’s announcement by the club.

With it having been revealed that a number of Newcastle United players are not being offered extensions on their current deals which end in June 2024.

The club stating that Loris Karius, Matt Ritchie, Kell Watts, Jeff Hendrick and Paul Dummett won’t be at St James’ Park for the 2024/25 season.

With this latest news, I have listed below what appears to be the current contract positions now for these 30 Newcastle United players.

Lewis Hall of course will be added to those with plenty years left on his contract, when his loan move becomes permanent this summer. The defender having already triggered the permanent deal during the season, just the official contract announcement needed now.

End of June 2024:

Hall

End of June 2025:

Dubravka, Trippier, Schar, Wilson, Burn, Fraser, Lascelles, Krafth, Gillespie (**)

End of June 2026:

Targett, Pope, Almiron, Anderson, Longstaff, Ashby, Hayden

End of June 2027:

Botman, Jacob Murphy, Willock

End of June 2028:

Tonali, Gordon, Isak, Barnes, Livramento, Bruno, Miley, Joelinton, Alex Murphy(***), Yankuba Minteh(*)

(*Newcastle United announced it only as a ‘long-term’ contract for Yankuba Minteh when he signed in summer 2023, however, media claims that it was a five year contract for the now 19 year old)

(** Back in April 2024, The Mail reported that the club had activated the option to extend Mark Gillespie’s contract by 12 months.)
