Newcastle United have made some clever sales this summer but their incomings have been underwhelming so far.
The Magpies have sold Yankuba Minteh to Brighton and Elliot Anderson to Nottingham Forest, two sales that helped the club comply with Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
They could now make another sale as Kieran Trippier likely to leave the club this summer.
According to Football Insider, Newcastle United could accept bid for Trippier in the region of £20-25million this summer.
They are ready for offers for the England international right-back and Eddie Howe is willing to cash in on him.
The full-back has entered the final year of his contract at St James’ Park and the Premier League club feel it is the right time to cash in on him.
Saudi Pro League clubs are showing interest in securing his services and they are ready to make an offer for the 33-year-old.
The defender was instrumental in Newcastle’s season in 2023-24 as he helped the club with eleven assists and one goal in all competitions.
Newcastle United are open to letting Kieran Trippier leave the club.
The report has mentioned that he could be allowed to leave the club this summer if he pushes for a move away.
If the Magpies can £20-25million for him, they would be more than happy with that considering Trippier’s age and his contract situation.
Newcastle United have unfinished business in transfer market
However, they would have to find a worthy replacement of the right-back, someone who is as good as the English defender in going forward and contributing to the attack.
Howe is expected to further bolster his team’s squad this summer with the club expected to sign a right-winger as well.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Trippier but Newcastle are acting smartly and if they can get a good fee for the player, they would be more than happy to let him leave the club.
