Interesting to see this Newcastle United official statement released regarding Castore.

The club doing so on the eve of the launch of the first post-Castore home kit.

The Adidas 2024/25 home kit going on sale at 8am on Friday morning.

We will never know why Mike Ashley chose Castore as the club’s kit partner.

We all assume that it must have given Ashley himself maximum personal benefits, mainly due to how the arrangement favoured Sports Direct.

Castore of course supply other major clubs such as Aston Villa, so not a totally off the wall choice.

However, fair to say, anybody who dealt with the club during the Mike Ashley era is viewed with suspicion.

These Newcastle United owners though doing the right thing and marking the end of the Castore era with a thanks and goodbye.

Newcastle United official statement – 6 June 2024:

‘Newcastle United wish to express sincere gratitude to Castore.

Over the past three seasons, Castore has been a key partner during a resurgent chapter for Newcastle United.

The sportswear brand has contributed to the trajectory of the club by providing quality clothing products, for both the men’s and women’s teams, along with our academy squads, and of course our supporters.

The Castore logo has embellished bespoke kits proudly worn – both on the pitch and in the stands – during a period that will be fondly remembered by supporters.

Highlights on the pitch include the long-awaited UEFA Champions League return and evolutionary back-to-back promotions for Newcastle United Women; Castore has walked alongside the club on every step of the journey.

Thank you, Castore.’
