Newcastle United are set for a busy and important summer transfer window.

The Magpies, after suffering an injury-struck season, are in desperate need of reinforcements, particularly in midfield following Sandro Tonali’s suspension.

And according to a recent report from Fichajes, one name to emerge high up on Eddie Howe’s summer shortlist is Juventus and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

Newcastle United transfer news: Magpies linked with Adrien Rabiot

The 29-year-old playmaker, who is believed to earn around €7 million per year, will be a free agent at the end of the season, and yet to agree to a contract extension with Juventus, the Frenchman could be heading for a new challenge following reports the Magpies have already ‘registered an interest’.

Adrien Rabiot will be a free agent in the summer.

Now linked with a surprise move to St. James’ Park, the former Paris Saint-Germain playmaker could become the next high-profile star to arrive in England’s northeast.

The Magpies aren’t the only side in the running for the France international though. Manchester United have been long-time admirers, and after being linked with a transfer for the past two windows, could finally strike a deal with the player’s representatives ahead of what will also be a busy summer at Old Trafford.

Since arriving in Turin from Paris in 2019, Rabiot, who has lifted an impressive 22 major domestic trophies throughout his career, has directly contributed to 36 goals in 206 games in all competitions.
