With less than a month left for the summer transfer window to close, FC Barcelona winger Raphinha continues to find himself in the centre of speculations.

The 27-year-old Brazilian international has been constantly attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and England. And given Barcelona’s need to make a prominent sale, his name has been touted as the likeliest to leave.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia have offered Raphinha mammoth contract proposals and are ready to splash big bucks on his signing, but he continues to reject their advances.

Now, though, a former admirer from the Premier League appears to have rekindled their interest in the Brazilian winger.

Newcastle United back in for Raphinha

Indeed, according to English sources, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle United are back in the race to sign Raphinha.

The Magpies have been linked with the Brazilian on multiple occasions in the past, as recently as this summer window, but nothing has come out of it.

However, now, it is being suggested that Eddie Howe’s side have reignited their pursuit of the Barcelona attacker and intend to sign him before the transfer window slams shut.

It is claimed that Howe sees the former Leeds United man as a good option to improve the quality of his team’s attacking line.

Raphinha wants to stay

Despite all the interest from Saudi Arabia, as well as the Premier League, where even Arsenal were said to be keen, Raphinha has no plans to leave Barcelona.

The 27-year-old’s spot in the starting XI in Hansi Flick’s team is far from guaranteed but he remains convinced that he can earn a place in the side and is determined to succeed at the Catalan outfit.
