Nexstar has tapped Bill Sammon to a top news leadership role, where he will oversee D.C. editorial content for The Hill and NewsNation.

The former Fox News veteran will serve as senior vice president of Washington, D.C. editorial content for The Hill and NewsNation. He will report to Cherie Grzech, president and managing editor for news and politics for NewsNation. He will start on Nov. 18.

Sammon joined Fox News in 2008, serving as managing editor and senior vice president of news in D.C. He duties included overseeing the network’s decision desk, and made the call of Arizona for Joe Biden in 2020. That led to a viewer backlash and eventually Sammon’s departure from the network.
