Neymar delivered the perfect revenge on Internacional de Limeira fans - seconds after telling them to chant his ex-girlfriend's name louder.

The Brazilian winger returned to boyhood club Santos last month after his contract at Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal was terminated by mutual consent.

In what was his sixth game since his January arrival, Neymar helped his side beat Inter de Limeira 3-0 on Sunday night - chipping in with a goal and two assists.

He assisted Tiquinho Soares from an inswinging corner in the ninth minute - before doubling the visitors' lead just before the half-hour mark.

Again on corner duty on the same side as Santos' opener, Neymar was once again taunted by fans who chanted the name of his former partner Bruna Marquezine, who he dated between 2012-2018.

Neymar responded by gesturing them to sing her name louder - revelling his role as being the pantomime villain at the Estadio Major Jose Levy Sobrinho.

He proceeded to whip the corner in off the far post in what was the first Olympico goal of his career - a feat that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have failed to achieve.

Immediately after the ball nestled into the back of the net, Neymar turned towards the home supporters where he cupped his ear, before holding his arms open and shrugging his shoulders.

The Barcelona icon then sat on the advertising hoarding with his arms folded where he was mobbed by his jubilant teammates.

Speaking after the victory, Neymar revealed exactly what he said to the fans after shutting them up in the best way possible.

He told CazeTV: "I went to take the corner, they provoked me.

"I asked them to sing louder, I struck the ball and got an assist.

"Then, the second time I went there [to the corner], they did it again.

"So I thought to myself, 'Now I'm the one who's going to score the goal.'

"I hit a great shot and managed to score my first Olympic goal."

Neymar's strike was his second for Santos since returning, with the forward helping his side book a quarter-final spot in the Campeonato Paulista.

With five goal contributions in his last three matches, it has led to talk he could be included in Brazil's national team squad for the first time since October 2023.

Brazil boss Dorival Junior is set to name his squad for the Selecao's World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina on March 7.

Confirming himself as available for selection having overcome his injury woes, Neymar stated: "Regarding the call-up, I'm there.

"Each player's desire is to defend the country, and for me it has always been an honour.

"I dedicated myself to the team to the fullest. I enjoy being there, representing Brazil.

"If I have the opportunity to return, I will be very happy."
