Marquinhos recognizes Neymar's major impact on his career at Paris Saint-Germain.

After six seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar said goodbye to the Old Continent to join Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. During his stay in Paris, he rubbed shoulders with many compatriots, including Marquinhos.

The central defender and PSG captain recently spoke about the importance of Neymar in his development as a player, during an interview with France Blue. Marquinhos then highlighted the particular influence of Thiago Silva and Neymar on his career.

An influence beyond the field

“All teammates are important in a playing career, but some are closer than others”declared the former AS Roma player.

“I am thinking in particular of Thiago Silva, Lucas, Neymar and others who have been with me on this journey. But it’s true that Thiago, when I arrived, I said he was my idol. When an idol turns into a friend, we got along very well, both on and off the field, that's why it worked very well.”he concluded.
