Neymar was sure to win the Ballon d'Or at PSG

Recruited by Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, Neymar was supposed to come to France to step out of the shadow of Lionel Messi and become the new boss of world football. Unfortunately for him, after his extraordinary first six months, the Brazilian suffered a lot of disappointments, notably due to injuries. The physical problems (3 years of absence accumulated in six years spent in Paris) which also prevented him from being Ballon d'Or, according to him.

“It was at PSG that I reached my peak. By playing like I did at PSG, I was sure of winning the Ballon d'Or. But I had these injuries and they ended up hurting me. It is obvious that all players want to be Ballon d'Or. But it's not something that's going to end my life.”he declared on Romario TV.
