Roy Keane shook off his tough persona to show a softer side by bringing Ian Wright from his beloved 49ers.

Former Manchester United captain Keane was appearing on his usual spot alongside Wright, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher on Sky Bet's Stick to Football podcast.

Before they got into their positions to begin, Keane and Wright shared a heartwarming moment.

The NFL fan had been Stateside to see the San Francisco 49ers beat the Packers in their playoff match and remembered to bring back a gift for Wright, who looked over the moon with the present.

"I promised you a present," he told the former Arsenal striker as Neville and Carragher looked on enviously.

Keane told them: "Sorry, lads! You're not into your American football, are you?"

Wright took his hat off and immediately put on his 49ers hat, exclaiming in an American accent: "The 49ers, man!

"Thanks, Roy, that's nice of you!"

Keane then asked before turning somewhat crestfallen: "Are you watching the games, you're not are you...

Wright replied: "To be honest, nah. But I will do!"

He then turned to the camera and said: "Go 49ers, go go go!"

Wright was then corrected on his chant, with Keane telling him: "Go 9ers, 49ers is too long!"

Keane will have been delighted at the team reaching the Super Bowl thanks to an epic comeback against the Detroit Lions going from 17 points down at half-time to win 34-31 in the NFC title game - essentially the Champions League semi-final - to set up a clash with the Kansas City Chiefs.

It's set to be an epic showdown as the 49ers, five-time Super Bowl winners, take on the defending champions who are looking to win a third title in five years when they meet on 11 February in Las Vegas.
