Caleb Williams might be the star quarterback of the Chicago Bears, but he’s kept his private life mostly under wraps. He did, however, make it known that he was in a relationship during the NFL draft. The quarterback, who was picked first in the 2024 draft, debuted his relationship during the iconic event. In the weeks leading up to the big event, he spoke a bit about his girlfriend, how they ended up together, and how they were advancing their romance.

Caleb Williams’ on-the-field prowess made him a top draft prospect in 2024, but he was already off the romantic market by the time he started making waves in the sports world. He opted to use the draft to debut his relationship. After the Chicago Bears selected him first overall, Williams appeared in several photos with his girlfriend, Alina Thyregod. It was the first time fans of the quarterback got a full view of his lady.

Williams seemed to want to use the draft to highlight his relationship with Thyregod. Leading up to the 2024 draft, Williams shared several snapshots with a woman, but he made sure to obscure her face in those photos. She was often seen holding a phone in front of most of her face to keep her identity secret. That all changed during the draft, though.

How long have the pair been dating?

Caleb Williams and his girlfriend might have debuted their relationship to the world in 2024, but their romance dates back much longer than that. They’ve known each other for a long time. While the duo rarely speak about their romance, it appears that they’ve been dating for at least a year. In October 2024, Williams took to Instagram to reveal that it had been a great year. He added a carousel of pictures with Thyregod. While their current romance dates back a year, the couple actually met in high school. During an appearance on the Pivot Podcast, Williams explained that he first met Thyregod in high school, and while they dated a bit as seniors, they broke up when they went to college. They stayed in touch and reconnected romantically in 2023.

Thyregod’s Instagram account is set to private, but she does have a public TikTok account that includes videos with the signal-caller. While it’s unclear what Thyregod does for work, her TikTok account makes it clear that she packed up and moved to Chicago to be with Williams. Much of her content centers around Bears games. Williams also regularly comments on her posts.
