A non-profit organisation, the Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative, has brought relief to hundreds of residents in the Magboro area of Ogun State and its environs with the distribution of essential food items, clothing, and footwear.

The initiative, aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting self-sufficiency, also included training sessions on sustainable livelihoods.

The distribution, held at the New Covenant Church, Magboro, saw beneficiaries receive essential food items such as rice, garri, fish, noodles, tomato paste, and vegetable oil. In addition, the organisation provided clothing and footwear to community members.

Beyond immediate relief, the EFWI organised training sessions on sustainable livelihoods, equipping residents with skills in fishing, snail rearing, and small-scale farming to empower beneficiaries to become self-reliant and improve their economic status.

The founder of the NGO, Abiola Adeniyi, expressed her commitment to making a positive impact on the community, stating, “We are deeply touched by the plight of our people and are committed to making a difference in their lives.”

Beneficiaries expressed immense gratitude for the support received, with Mrs. Bimpe, a widow with three children, saying, “These food items will feed my family for at least a week. I am also excited about the farming training; it gives me hope for a brighter future.”

Another beneficiary, Mr. Kenneth, shared his experience, stating, “I am grateful for the relief materials and the opportunity to learn new skills. This initiative has given me a renewed sense of hope and purpose.”

One of the volunteers, Mr  Samuel Olayemi, expressed his satisfaction with being part of the initiative, saying, “Seeing the smiles on the faces of the beneficiaries is incredibly rewarding. It’s fulfilling to know that we are making a difference in people’s lives.”

The success of the outreach was made possible through the generous support of some esteemed partners. New Covenant Church, Enclave Homes and Bio Constitution, Lagos Food Bank Initiative, Food Clique Support Initiative, Agrothentic, Glitmond Cargo & Logistics Services, Justweb Technology, Sparklight properties, The Links Properties, Mr. Gabriel Okavie and other well-meaning individuals.

To do more, the Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative is calling on individuals, organisations, and corporate bodies to partner with them in its mission to uplift the less privileged. Through collaborative efforts, the EFWI  aims to expand its reach and impact a larger number of people.
