Hyderabad: Construction work on the long-pending 46 km stretch of NH-163, from TSPA Junction to Manneguda, has finally begun following widespread criticism and public pressure after a recent tragic accident on the route.
The road-widening project, which had faced delays, was kickstarted after Minister for Roads Komatireddy Venkat Reddy issued direct orders to expedite the process. This decision comes in response to increasing calls for action to improve safety and reduce accidents on this heavily used yet narrow highway.
Banyan Trees and NGT Case
The delay was primarily due to a court case pending in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) concerning a small stretch of the road with banyan trees. The minister, however, instructed officials to begin work on areas unaffected by the legal dispute, ensuring that progress could be made without further delay.
Impact on Real Estate
The road-widening project is not only expected to improve traffic flow and safety but also give a significant boost to the real estate markets in Aziznagar and Moinabad. With improved connectivity, these areas are likely to attract more investors and development, benefiting residents and businesses alike.
